concept design

At the start of each design process, stefan.schöning.studio organizes a briefing with the client to clearly define the scope of the project.

The studio then delves deeply into the subject matter and carries out the necessary analyses. The insights gained form the foundation for developing the design matrix.

Next, the look & feel of the design begins to take shape through a series of sketches. These initial visual concepts are then translated into a nearly tangible 3D representation. Rough CAD models and accompanying renders quickly provide the client with a clear impression of how their idea could take form within the agreed framework.

system & productgeneration

In this next phase of the design process, choices are made between the various concepts. This results in the selection of one direction that will be further developed.

Additional sketches, material selections, and 3D renderings form the foundation for a fully developed and cohesive design concept.

Throughout this process, regular meetings are scheduled to further refine the design in close collaboration with the client.

design evaluation

During the design evaluation, it is assessed in consultation with the client whether the concept still aligns with the established design matrix.

If it appears that the design deviates from this, it will be returned to the concept phase for further revision and optimization.

product

In this phase, the technical dossier is first prepared. This includes the development of detailed 3D models and the creation of precise 2D production drawings. At the same time, regular consultations with the client take place to align the technical aspects of the design and make adjustments where necessary.

In parallel with this development, the search for suitable suppliers begins. Various options are mapped out, analyzed, and discussed. In consultation with the client, the most suitable partners are selected, taking into account quality, cost, and feasibility.

The design then takes shape in a full-scale (1:1) prototype. This tangible model serves as an evaluation moment for functionality, finishing, and overall design quality. Based on the insights gained, final adjustments are made with the goal of fully finalizing the design.

production

In the production phase, the focus lies on translating the design into a high-quality final product. This begins with the creation of the necessary tooling and production molds, specifically tailored to the chosen manufacturing process. Throughout the entire production process, each step is carefully monitored, with particular attention to precision and quality control.

The assembly of the components is carried out according to the established specifications. After assembly, the final design is tested to ensure it meets all functional and aesthetic requirements.

Finally, supervision is provided during the final production and the installation of the product in its intended environment. This ensures a seamless transition from design to realization, with a strong focus on detail, durability, and finish.
