in the execution of this project, it was an interesting challenge to combine elegance and subtlety with the requirements of a robust waste bin; sturdy and solid. the hexagonal shape with rounded corners gives the bin extra stability, yet precisely because of this, the design appears soft and calm in the streetscape. the curved surface at the top offers easy access to the opening and is simultaneously designed to discourage illegal dumping. the relief details in the sheet metal protect the waste bin against vandalism. the gradual fading of the relief pattern on the top of the bin gives the whole a friendly and playful appearance.
