the city of ghent has been working for some years on the harmonization and visual value of their public domain. by successive publications of the integral plan of the public domain (ipod 1 and following) the city has proven to want to bet on:
- a well-organized and clear public domain
- a qualitative public domain
- a typical ghent public domain

in order to achieve these objectives, this project focused specifically on:
- long lifespan
- honest and sustainable materials
- local production
