invader is a study of ‘cutting’ volumes. the seating gap is a cut-out of the body which is made of one piece. it gives interesting architectural perspectives when seen from different sides. the foamed body is upholstered in different colours. in order to get the shape right, i started cutting with a knife into a foam bloc of polystyrene. afterwards, we decided to get it moulded and to integrate the metal parts for the construction of the legs, the back and seat comfort.
