there is a rich culture of masks in diverse countries and cultures in the world, and we intend on creating our own. anthropomorphic design obviously has a very recognisable feel to it, and it is this natural emotion that we want to tap into.

through this abstract langkawi collection, the objective is to let the viewer make their own interpretation with their varying sensitivities. furthermore, there is a play on symmetry - or lack thereof - which aims to either harmonise or disturb the experience.

langkawi, the island - other than being a naturally beautiful island in the andaman archipelago, langkawi is heavy in legends, myths, fables, folklores and anthropomorphism.

each member of the langkawi collection is hand-carved by langkawi wood artisans from one block of malaysian hardwood and is placed on their custom-made individual stand.
