taking into account the image quality plan, the cultural-historical context and in consultation with the architects, a corporate identity for the public design elements of the new city district of nieuwegein (the netherlands) was designed and developed. this corporate identity comprises both physical elements (commercial signage, façade lighting, litter bins, benches etc.) as well as guidelines for the design of façade advertising. the purpose of the design is to create a serene and coherent image throughout the architectural variety of the city district. this way, it creates a recognizable entity for the visitor.
