railway stations have always been a meeting point for passengers, travelers and people who are on the move, all of them sharing different experiences. corporate design helps to create an environment to stimulate this kind of experience. travel accommodations should easily be found, providing the passenger with comfort and a good feeling. buying a ticket or getting to the right platform is not indicated obtrusively, but clearly and in a professional way. consequently, the design is present in the details of all items: the beacon outside, information columns, travel time tables, ticket vending machines, ticket windows, pictogram signs and last but not least the railway clock. this design is corporate for all stations and therefore flexible in its construction. all designs are non-architectural features which are added to existing situations of various kinds: historic buildings with great architectural value, but also new stations in which the design is integrated without any compromise, nor from an architectural point of view, nor from the corporate design origin. the objective of this assignment was to create a clear vision and peace in the visitor’s experience within the chaos of the current railway environment. the design is a result of a competition, which stefan.schöning.studio was nominated laureate and commissioned to elaborate the complete technical dossier and follow up and support the execution and production of the program.
